The Ehlers-Danlos Society is a global community of individuals, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and supporters, dedicated to saving and improving the lives of those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD), and related conditions.
The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders that are varied in the ways they affect the body and in their genetic causes. Some of the common symptoms seen across the EDS types include joint hypermobility, instability (subluxations and dislocations), injury, and pain, as well as skin and tissue fragility.
Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) cause joint hypermobility, instability, injuries, and pain that are not part of another syndrome or condition that can explain these symptoms.
People with EDS and HSD also commonly experience other problems throughout the body, including fatigue, headaches, GI problems, and autonomic dysfunction.
